Need the condenser first, still deciding on a 2nd hand 16-year old unit from someone in Germany (where the thing could be just as knackered as the one I've got, also 16 years old), or a new pattern-one from a German company on ebay. Then there's still an idea in my twisted mind involving getting one in the US on ebay, and having someone fly the thing back to Europe *no particular looks or stares at Doug or anyone*
VW UK are out, nada in stock, need to order one in Germany, and couldn't even tell me how long that might take, as none are showing in Germany either. Apart from the fact that I then would be paying VW rip-off prices

A condenser at VW costs 450 Euros

It's the 191 820 413D one (for the G60 and early 16V Corrados). There's an offer on US-ebay for about $40 plus another $40 shipping within the US. Sounds reasonable, certainly when compared to VW prices.
Nice little Mk1-Rocco keychain

, yeah, you'll be pleased to know that I'll be sweatening as much as you do in your C when it's nice and hot outside. No more fridge-like conditions for the time being. I could always be ruthless and just rip all that stuff out and fit a large intercooler instead, but I miss the ac too much already

That is Dirk's MK1 key chain from his first MK1. It has been on vacation in California for nearly 8 years now.

Hmmmm.....
OK I think I know this one...... Let me think.......
Ok I have it
Karmann is the answer!
The question is:
What Coachbuilder will cut 1,250 of around 5,200 jobs at its main assembly plant in Osnabrueck Germany this year due to slumping sales? We hoped that the Volkswagen Cabrio Eos, and new Scirocco would be built by Karmann.
You should not miss the "DAS ORIGINAL: Sciroccoforum-Geburtstag 18.-20.8.2006." Karmann may not stay in Osnabrueck for much longer.
