This is Michael from Rhine Area near Cologne almost dutch border but of course Gemany.....

I do own 3 Volkswagen as you can see in my signature.

I am self employed and i run a sound installation and merchandising company.

My pride is my 1990 GT2 converted to a 2000 E 16V using a heavily modified 9a engine from a Corrado/Passat. This enables me to drive the Scirocco without gear shifts on the motorway. From 50mph on there is enough torque.

For winter season i got a GT2 8 valves with the normal 95 bhp engine.

The joke is the two cars look quite similar as they are both black (thats why my nickname is GT2black) and they have almost same license plate numbers so most of the people including my father are thinking that i own just 1 Scirocco lol).

On sunday I am going to buy the fith scirocco for my girlfreind :) It is a 1992 1.8 JH with some extras. I am so happy :))

I come from the Black Forest, near Baden Baden in Germany. I have my Scirocco since I was 17 years old.

I have changed a lot of things on my car. It's a 1992 Scirocco with the powerfull JH engine )

Today It looks like this:











I've done all the modifies of my own making. Only the painting have done a professional varnisher.

Soon I will put some chrom parts and a digifiz in and on it.

Hi folks,

I'm from Burggen in Germany. Burggen is a very small village (about 1570 souls as of today) located about 70 miles southwest of Munich, Bavaria.
I used to own a Mk 1 Scirocco from 1988 to 1993. It was my "winter car", grocery getter, rainy days driver. This car was already botched when I bought it and I never restored it - at the end the body was completely rusted through .
By 1992 I started to drive American cars... and in December 2006 my mini van had a transmission failure and I had to get a cheap substitute (wanted to save my money for the tranny repair) because I have to drive 45 miles every day to get to my office.
I roamed the internet and what did I stumble across - this 1991 Mk II GT II Scirocco, with only 88000 km on the odometer! I just could'nt resist to buy it right off the bat.

The car is in very good condition, I just had to retune the ignition timing and idle speed! I installed a contemporary 14" steering wheel from Momo (from the Eighties) and swapped the steel rims with original aluminum rims from the BMW E30 series - a car designed with rough edges should not be equipped with modern, smooth style rims. But that's my personal opinion... I've also been able to get my hands on a brand "new old stock" set of Bosch fog lights which are now waiting to be installed.



The Scirocco has something special - it's not as fast as my Trans Am - but it's endless fun to around. I will take care of it ...

well, to be honest, I've been to the States for three times, but always for short periods (three weeks). But if you got a minute, then read on...

After WW2, an aunt of mine got married to an US Air Force captain. They stayed in Germany after he retired from the Air Force and so every now and then when we visited each other he also used to talk in English to me - so I grew up somewhat bilingually. I also acquired the habit of listening to AFN every day - and if it's only for the newscast.
So maybe these are the reasons why my English is "a little bit American" .
