(Doug) Not this time. We will be in the north. Kathy wants to spend time in Amsterdam and see some of Denmark. Stutensee is just too far south for this trip. We were hoping you would come to Karmann.

(Doug) YES we are thinking it would be great to go to Nürburgring before Karmann if possible. I hope we can meet up on Thursday in Nürburgring, drive the track and then go as a group to Karmann.

That was going to be the plan Just checking out ferries combinations, and I should have nearly everything planned. I was planning on doing one of the ADAC safety training courses, but 2 things stop me from doing this:

1. It's a whole 8-hours, me having to translate everything into English, I'll be knackered by the end of the day.

2. We don't get a few laps on the actual ring thrown in

So, to keep things simple, I'll just be offering the ring to my UK folks. Will be needing one night's accommodation, too, one more thing to do.

It is open until 7:30 PM actually, Friday the same, on Saturday and Sunday it is open the whole day, from 8 AM until 7:30 PM.

Does that mean going to Karmann on Thursday evening or Friday? It doesn´t come out clearly for me.

Soweit ich Frau Pitzen verstanden habe, sind es mittlerweile wieder 4 Zimmer bei ihr im Haus (Tochter ausgezogen) plus der 2 Zimmer ein Haus weiter bei Ihrer Mutter.

Sollte also für 12 Leute reichen.

Waiting for confirmations at this stage on how many really are up for it (as some might be put off by the final high costs of the whole trip, particularly the ferry trip).

I have now presented a travel package on the UK forums (ferry journey, which ports to sail from), extra night prior to the ring still needs sorting, banking on the night after the ring at Pitzen, and one extra night after the actual Karmann meet.

I'll need a few more days before I can post up numbers. Otherwise I'll need to seek out some more hotels for the night Thursday onto Friday.

I've given my lot a deadline of this Friday to get back to me, but as deadlines go ... So by Saturday I should have details on how many rooms we need at Pitzen.

To all:
Kathy and I (USA team) will be at the Nürburgring Thursday, the 17th of August. It would be great if we could all stay in the same hotel Thursday evening. We are not sure at this point if we (USA Team) will arrive near the ring late Wednesday evening and then drive in to the Nürburgring early Thursday morning or arrive at the ring mid day Thursday. No need for anyone to arrive extra early for us. We will need one room on Thursday evening with the group. We will be happy to see the ring and meet with any and all Scirocco / Corrado drivers.

Ah yes, and thanks to Dirk, I even had a custom-made version of the above T-shirt with my Mk1 on it Probably wear that again this year, even though I'll be taking my Mk3 aka Rado
